Korean Product Review: Tony Moly Egg Yolk Pore Primer vs. Hope Girl Magic Skin Primer

For those who has large pores and oily skin, the struggle for pore minimising products is REAL. So here are two primers that are advertised with such quality.

TONY MOLY
Totally unplanned, impulse purchase. I was actually looking for the Hope Girl Magic Skin Primer but I was waylaid by the Tony Moly salesgirl at the Hyundai Outlet in Myeongdeong to check this product out. She applied some of the product on my skin and I was IMMEDIATELY SOLD. My sister, my cousin and I all bought a tube each.

PROS:
● Smoothens/ blurs skin
● Minimises & hides the appearance of pores
● Mattifies skin (can be seen in picture)
● Nice, fresh citrus smell

CONS:
● A little waxy due to the silicone content
● Does not control sebum

The primer did stand the test of time & heat. My makeup did stay on without creasing even after the bucket load of sweat at the end of the day. However after 4-5 hours of wear my T-shine started to look as shiny as newly polished silverwear. Bummer.

4 STARS!! 

I love this primer even though it does leave a waxy feel on my fingers but it does as it advertised. My skin does look smoother and softer. If only it had sebum control too then this primer would have been perfect! A+ for long-term wear and pore minimising. 

HOPE GIRL

I bought this primer solely because I saw a majority of the Malaysian beauty Gurus raving about it on Instagram. And since it also boasts of pore minimising qualities, I made it a point to get a bottle when in Korea. I got this from Olive & Young (Similar to Watsons) in Myeondong Cosmè Street. It was the only place that carries this brand.

PROS:
● Smoothens/ blurs skin
● Minimises & hides pores
● Brightens skin (can be seen in picture)

CONS:
● STRONG SMELL! 

● Comes off as oily and thick at first.

Honestly when I found out that this brand was not a popular brand in Korea, I started to have doubts. I mean, there's basically only one distributor here in Malaysia and if ever I want to hire a Korean personal shopper this person will have a difficult time looking for this product. 

Back to the product, as soon as I pumped the product on to my hand, the scent attacked my sense of smell. The strong chemical rose scent was not a smell that I wanted to have on my face. The primes was also a little oily at first but the initial oiliness eventually disappears. However if you're on-the-go it's definitely a hassle to wait for it to fully absorb. I'm not too sure how it stands the test of heat and longevity since I really couldn't stand having the smell on my face all day long. 

☆☆VERDICT☆☆
I truly, truly HATE the smell. It's a major turnoff for me so I will NEVER EVER buy this again. I'll probably only use this primer if I'm having fun makeovers or makeup looks at home. But for the sake of a proper and fair review I will make it a point to wear this out someday and see how it does in terms of performance. Will update again once I do so.

MAKEUP HAUL: Drugstore Lippies & The Body Shop Makeup

So I went shopping again and brought home 3 lip liners, a matte nude lipstick, a nude lip gloss and an eyeshadow!! God help me. As if I do not have enough makeup.

One thing that I've always wanted to try but never had the guts to do was be a Goth. I find Goths to be brave, independent people who are never afraid to stand up for what they believe in.

So here I am for the first time ever trying out full blown Gothic Makeup. It took me hours to get everything just right so now I have a new found respect for goths who actually go out looking like this EVERY DAY.

So am I a Goth now? No lah. Waaaay too much effort just to look like this. It was a fun experiment though.

This look was inspired by It's Black Friday. I love watching her videos and she's probably one of the coolest (and nicest) person on Youtube. Do check out her other videos. They're a lot of fun.

Korean Product Review: Nature Republic Super Aqua Max Watery Cream.

This is probably my favourite moisturiser EVER!!

To all that have combination/oily skin then you should consider trying this product. It is a light moisturiser that's perfect for day use and is great to prep your skin for makeup. After using this for a couple of months, my skin does seem to be more supple and hydrated. Plus I love that it keeps the shine away from my t-zone.

● lightweight, perfect for oily t-zones
● super absorbent
● fresh scent
● huge tub with own spatula

□■□ CONS ■□■
● more product is needed for dry skin areas. A lot of people has commented that this is too lightweight for people with dry skin. However, this line also carries a moisturiser for dry skin. 

☆☆☆☆VERDICT☆☆☆☆

I ♡♡♡ this moisturiser. 

I'm already halfway through my 1st tub and has already bought the second tub. I'll keep using this moisturiser until I find something better.

Korean Product Review: Banila Co Clean It Zero.

Korang2 yang penggemar mekap ni tentu tahu benda paling penting bila pakai mekap is to make sure to clean your face before tido, kan? Tapi siapa sini benci oil based makeup remover tapi bila guna cleansing water rasa macam tak cukup bersih?

I hate it bila guna oil based makeup remover then lepas tu muka rasa macam pelantar minyak. Tapi bila guna cleansing water, boleh nampak sisa-sisa mekap yang tak hilang lagi bila pakai toner. 

So ini dia solution yang dinantinantikan. The all-in-one cleanser yang sesuai untuk semua jenis kulit. 
For those yang kulit normal dan sekadar mahu pencuci mekap yang efektif tapi moisturising at the same time then you all boleh guna Clean it Zero pastu boleh terus tido. Tiada masalah punya.

But for those like me yang kulit berminyak and have huge open pores then boleh guna Clean It Zero in your double cleansing routine. Lepas cuci muka dengan produk ni, boleh teruskan dengan your usual skincare routine.

● travel friendly - texture sherbet (macam gel tapi lagi likat) takkan tumpah kalau masuk beg. Sangat    convenient.
● harum tapi tak menusuk hidung. ● sangat efektif especially for BB/CC cream and waterproof    

   sunblock. 

● very moisturising tapi tak membuat kulit rasa oily. 

□■□ CONS ■□■
● tak berapa sesuai untuk mascara/ eyeliner lebih2 lagj kalau waterproof. 

Clean It Zero ni bukan tak boleh tanggalkan waterproof mascara/ eyeliner cuma bila nak tanggalkan mekap, pengguna digalakkan massage sikit produk ke kulit so that mekap akan cair. Jadi bila ditenyeh-tenyeh produk kat kelopak mata memang akan masuk mata. Nasib baik tak pedih. Cuma lepas tu pandangan jadi kabur kejap until dicuci dengan air. So for this I suggest all waterproof mascara/ liquid eyeliner lovers maintainlah dengan eye makeup remover yang korang suka ye.

4/5 - it truly does as it says. Memang best! Kalau tak sebab masuk mata tu memang kasi full marks. Confirm akan beli lagi.

Ini pengakuan besar... 

I AM A COLOURED CONTACT LENS JUNKIE.

Pertama kali pakai colour contacts masa umur 16 tahun. Sanggup tu simpan duit semata2 nak beli contact lens. Masa tu colour contacts mahal gila kot sebab ada kat kedai spek je. Bahagia betul remaja zaman sekarang ni ye boleh beli colour contacts kat IG je.

So hari ni nak cerita sikit pasal Freshlook Colourblends lenses. Ni first time cuba sebenarnya. Selama ni tak pernah beli sebab Freshlook ni jatuh dalam kategori contacts mahal. Kalau takde sale harga dia paling koman pun mesti above RM50. Tapi disebabkan sale, dapatlah beli 3 pasang lense ni dengan harga RM40 sepasang. 

■□■ So, do I like it? ■□■ 

PROS:
● colour sangat cantik
● realistic and natural

CONS:
● not very breatheable
● cepat kering
● kadang2 fokus hilang dan penglihatan agak kabur

For me, Freshlook lenses ni memang cantik tapi tak berapa selesa untuk dipakai. Maximum boleh pakai lense ni pun setakat 4-5 jam lepas tu mata jadi kering dan pedih2. Lagi teruk kalau stay dalam bilik beraircond. Ubat titis pelembab mata memang jadi bestfriend lah masa tu. Ramai pengguna yang komplen masalah yang sama jadi kesimpulannya water retention for these lenses tak berapa bagus. 

Secondly, agak bahaya kalau penglihatan jadi kabur walaupun kejap je. Kalau tengah driving tetiba mata kabur memang naya. 

☆☆ Will you buy it again?☆☆
Most probably tak. Walaupun colour sangat lawa tetapi keselesaan ketika memakai lagi penting. Ni kalau pakai tapi asyik dok kedip2 mata, macam mana orang nak nampak kaler dia, dak gitu? Pastu kalau orang terperasan kita terkedip mata kat dia, macam mana nak jawab? Hehe

So, time to move on to the next colour contacts brand 😃

Anyways, kali ni nak review pasal mascara yang tengab HOT dan VIRAL di Instagram (IG) lately.
 

DUOYA BIG WATERPROOF MASCARA

IG shops semua promote mascara ni if you want bulu mata panjang dan lentik ala2 bulu mata palsu Che' Ta. Mascara ni guna sejenis fibre untuk panjangkan dan lentikkan bulu mata and according to the box... 'No Panda Eyes'. Maknanya smudge proof la tu. Mascara ni pun supposedly senang cuci, sapu dengan air je terus tanggal

. ■□■ So apa verdict Me, My Review? □■□ 

Pros:
● ringan, tak rasa berat kat bulu mata 

● memang senang untuk dicuci
● warna yang sangat gelap dan tekstur pekat

Cons:
● mahal sikit 

● untuk dapatkan efek bulu mata Che' Ta tu, MESTI layer 2-3 coat
● kalau pakai 2-3 layers, akan ada clumping
● kalau orang kuat berpeluh (like me) kadang2 akan ada sikit habuk mascara yang jatuh ke    pipi or even worse masuk mata 😢 

Kalau you all peminat tegar mascara then tak rugi beli cuma for me yang ganas dan kuat berpeluh ni, I prefer mascara yang tahan lasak sikit. Plus, I am soooo lazy nak pakai mascara sampai 2-3 layer. Hehe.

Mula2 beli satu je nak test. Tup tup tengok sekarang ni dah ada 7 helai. Camne tu? Hehe. Mak pun sekarang dah fall in love dengan tudung@cloverush ni. Dia sendiri dah beli 5 helai pastu hari ni beli lagi untuk adik beradik dia. Fuh memang hebat penangan tudung @cloverush ni. 

For me I prefer their semi instant shawls tapi mak pula suka yang simple2 so dia prefer tudung sarung je. Kenapa kami anak beranak suka sangat tudung@cloverush?

Pros:
● designs lawa2 & colours sangat banyak
● comfortable, breathable cotton
● senang nak dicuci dan dijaga

Cons:
● mahal sket
● design selalu sold out cepat

Tudungs dan shawls diorang takdelah mahal gila. Mostly from a range of RM35 to around RM80. Cuma kalau tetiba berkenan 2-3 design sekaligus memang kopak jugaklah poket nak beli semua. Plus kekadang kalau tanya pasal certain design, selalu je sold out. Frust juga nak menunggu restock.
